I love M’Lady!
M’Lady is a new line of princess-themed bags by the bubbly sweetheart, Jiandra Alda. Her sweetness is reflected in all of her designs, and I consider myself lucky to have been her very first customer! T’was super lucky that she released her first batch of bags right after my birthday, which meant I had some funds to spare. ♥
Love, love, love the feminine feel to this bag. It’s also functional, mind you, and it’s taken a bit of abuse from me. While Jiandra has advised against carrying heavier things in this bag, I decided to put it to a test. I think I’ve carried up to 10 pounds of stuff in this bag for short periods of time. It’s gone through malls, thrift shops (bumped into a couple of racks, too!), and I’ve even ridden public transportation with it. If you know what public transport is like in the Philippines, then you know what this bag has gone through. XD
Aaaand of course, we can’t forget the Outfit Breakdown:
Lace-collared top: thrifted
Eyelet bubble skirt: b+ab Gotta Pick My Precious Love Collection
Low heels: off-brand
Bag: M’Lady
As part of a collaboration with M’Lady, I’ll be posting more outfit photos to show you what kinds of things you can wear with these bags, and even show you what you can cram in them! :D
That’s it for now, loves! I’ll be doing my best to catch up on entries, and I’m planning more shoots in the near future. Time to have fun!

On the way to a wedding! Today was not good for my left eye; got thwacked by a mascara spoolie and facial wash got in and made it sting like crazy. D:
Ice Queen (shot by Kat Langomez)
I joined a spokesmodel search last year, and made it to the final round. We were required to submit a new shot, so I ran off and dragged Kat to shoot. XD
I wanted to try something different from my usual looks, so I decided to expose my legs and shoulders (which still feels weird to me, btw). After Kat showed me these shots, I was happy with them, BUT I felt they might be too risque to enter in the competition.
Some of these pics haven’t been posted on my page yet, so here’s a first look at them! :D I wanted to do a slightly different take on the “Little Black Dress” thing, and I think it worked for me. :P
What I found really funny, though, was the attention my legs received. It’s like, “Guys, they’re legs. You have legs too.” XD
At this point, I’m still figuring out which dresses/outfits/concepts to shoot next. Maybe there’ll be more of my legs? HAHAHA
‘Til next time, loves!
Cheers,
Vanessa

I was going through my hard drive, trying to organize my photo folders. I stumbled on a folder of outtakes from one of my favorite shoots, shot by Luisa Manuel. My awesome makeup was done by Caz Buss of Amadeobeloved. Everything came together so nicely, and I loved all my shots.
I normally post “nice” photos from my shoots. That’s usually what everyone sees on my page, and I rarely put up my awkward outtakes. Here’s a sample of a “proper” shot:

That’s what most people expect to see when I say I had a photo shoot. What happens between the proper shots is this, though:

Yes. I turn into the most awkward creature ever. Awkward pose, awkward face, awkward EVERYTHING. And it gets progressively worse as the shoot goes on.

Awkward face is awkward. This was unintentional on my part. Sometimes I like making faces at other people who are at the shoot, too. I am very easily distracted.

I end up goofing off when I can’t think of any more poses.

So, what’s the point in me showing you all of my derp faces?
A lot of people tell me I look glamorous/refined in my photos, and some people seem to believe that I never have bad moments caught on camera during shoots. Here ya go, y’all. Awkward faces everywhere, from yours truly. XD

The next time you see someone’s glamorous, fixed-up shots, you know that there are probably a bunch of unflattering photos of them that may never see the light of day. XD
Love,
Vanessa ♥

A New Beginning
This is my first legit shoot for 2013, and I am extremely happy with it. These are just some of the shots that Life (yes, that’s her real name!) took, and I am definitely excited to see the rest!
CONFESSION: I was supposed to use one of these shots as my entry in dolldelight’s model search.
I’ve dropped out of the contest, not because I don’t have a presentable entry, but for personal reasons. I looked at these shots and realized that while we were shooting, I wasn’t thinking about the contest. I was doing this because it’s something I love. I work with the photographer to try and produce the best possible shots. I do it because this is the art that I choose.
I personally believe that our efforts deserve more than to be entered in a popularity contest. I understand the value of an artist’s effort, and I don’t think any form of art should be judged according to its popularity, but rather, by its quality. (the entries in round 1 look good, don’t get me wrong. Check them out yourself!)
This shoot marks a new beginning for me. A renewed appreciation for photography, and for my chosen art. I made it my new year’s resolution to do at least one good shoot every month, and I think this is an excellent start. I’m ridiculously excited to shoot again, and I am already preparing for February’s shoot. :D

Oh my goodness, I remember this day! Boyfie had only been with me for a month when I wore this out on a date. XD I would definitely still wear something like this occasionally. :P
Surprisingly, I still have the pieces I used for this outfit. Maybe one of these days, I’ll get the chance to wear it a different way. <3

Plaid Princess (by Vanessa Lopa)
Hello, toothy grin. XD Wore this out to a date with my boyfie. I was going for a more punk/ero lolita look, but I think I ended up looking more gyaru. XD

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that you’ll be seeing posts about my wigs in this blog. Here’s one of my favorites, so far! I consider wigs as investment pieces, because they can bring so much to the table in terms of working with your look!

1 Wig, 4 Looks, featured on Gothic Lolita Wigs’ blog.
Had fun shooting this set! Twintails wigs can be very versatile, you don’t have to wear it the exact same way everyone else does. XD
