The life, style, and derp of a small-town girl. Dress-up misadventures, crafting frustrations, and little obsessions can be found here.
This blog is full of my face. You have been warned.
I’ve known Cy of dolldelight for years. I first met her online four years ago, and had the pleasure of meeting her face-to-face a short while before she left for the US. I never quite knew when she was coming back for a visit, so it was pleasant news to find out she’s in the Philippines for a bit!
She had a meet-and-greet in Tokyo Bubble Tea prior to this more exclusive one, which I didn’t get to go to. I came in pretty late for this one too, because of other obligations. That, and I had to drive really carefully lest I damage my car fixtures with my nail art, which I’ll post about later. XD
Outfit photo! I had two outfits planned for this meet, but went with a more himekaji-inspired look because I didn’t feel like being completely covered up with long sleeves and OTKs (I blame the heat in this country, haha). I insisted on showing off my nails because those were ridiculously difficult for me to stick on. XD I’ll be shooting my outfit some other time. This is probably the last time I’ll depend solely on my phone for photos of a meetup, the pictures turned out really bad. :(
I got to shoot with Mark U. of Coffeebugg Photography back in July! I loved getting to shoot in lolita again, I didn’t think I’d missed it this much. Mark was pretty game for my silliness and derpy poses, so I think we got along pretty well. XD
There’s Mark, explaining the effect he wants to his photography assistant. I was just derping around. Kinda glad the straps were kinda covered by the wig, I hadn’t noticed that they were a bit lopsided. D:
This is the first time I’ve shot with a lighting setup that was constantly being moved. And this would be the nth time that Mark has accidentally had the flash pop while he was looking right at the bulb. XD
And here I am, channeling my inner Disney Princess. Couldn’t help it, that ladder was too perfect for my Belle moment!
Mark and his assistant were setting up stuff so that we could shoot in that part of the warehouse. It was actually pretty fun being in a dusty storeroom, but I did have to remember that my dress was still dominantly white. D:
Then Mark let me fool around with his TLR! <3 Look at that stupidhappy face! Been wanting to collect all sorts of cameras, but I haven’t had the chance to start yet. :(
I am still genuinely surprised when people express interest in having me as their model. I dance a lot, I prance all over the place, and a lot of the time I make these unexplainable faces. XD but then again, as long as the shots come out well, I don’t think any of us are complaining!
