The life, style, and derp of a small-town girl. Dress-up misadventures, crafting frustrations, and little obsessions can be found here.

This blog is full of my face. You have been warned.

Back to Business!
Now that the Valentine’s weekend is almost up (on this side of the world, anyway), I’ll be going back to “work”: Fixing my room and finding all my materials again. XD I’ve still got something sweet planned for this month, and I hope I manage to finish it in time.
Speaking of sweet stuff, I need to cut down. HAHAHAHA working on getting back into shape in time for my birthday, and maybe just in time for a certain cosplay to debut at this year’s Toycon! I’ll post about it some more in the coming months. :P I’d also like to accomplish another pin-up shoot this year, since I’ve had fun with my shots so far, just like this one shot by my dear friend, JR. :)
More (hopefully sweet!) updates soonish, darlings!

ATTACK OF THE SELFIES!
Our generation has been called “The Selfie Generation,” and I personally don’t mind. I’d like to believe that I keep my number of selfies in check and switch it up with photos of other things on Instagram, and I don’t spam-upload twenty pictures of me making the same face. XD If people want to do that, that’s their call. I just… probably will shy away from them. XD
Also, how many of you actually recognize the camera I’m holding in the picture? XD

Late Thanksgiving Post!
Here in the Philippines, we don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving, but I consider it a good reminder that we do have so much to be thankful for.
I am thankful I’m alive, and that I’m in relatively good health.
I’m thankful for my parents, my family, and friends who have supported me and put up with my weird/awkward/out-of-this-world activities. XD They’ve been there for me when the pressures from life become a little too much for me to handle, and they pressure me just enough to get me to do my best.
I’m thankful for my sponsors, without whose generosity I would probably not be able to do what I love. They’re the ones who cover for most of my wardrobe and wigs and things, and I wouldn’t be able to have all these fun photoshoots without them!
I’m thankful for all the photographers I’ve had the opportunity to work with. The “newer” photographers who I’ve grown with, and the “older” photographers who’ve shot me even though I considered myself so unworthy!
I’m superduper thankful for all my followers across the social networks that I use! In Facebook, where I’m most active. You guys give me great feedback. :) In my dress-up Tumblr, where I’ve received such sweet messages. In YouTube, where people have been commenting and messaging me. I know I haven’t been as active there, and some of my followers actually message me in FB and Twitter, asking me to go back to posting! I swear, I’m prepping stuff for 2014. XD In Twitter, where you guys put up with all my disjounted thoughts and random musings. In Lookbook, where I’ve only just started posting again. And even the followers of my dollie blog in Livejournal, you’ve all been such sweethearts. Thank you, all of you! ♥
I’m also thankful for the people who told me “no” when I was much younger. The ones who told me I wouldn’t go very far, the ones who bullied me in elementary school, the ones who told me that weirdos like me have no place in society. Because of you, I’ve grown stronger, and I’ve followed my dreams.
I’ve got plenty more to be thankful for, probably way too many to fit in this post. XD But suffice it to say that I do appreciate every single kind word, every opportunity, every sponsored item, every silly message, and every conversation (whether a quick one or something that lasted hours). Every “no, you can’t” that attempted to bring me down, and every “yes, you can” that made me push myself even more.

Thanks, you guys. ♥ I have so much love and appreciation for all of it!

Behind the Scenes - Lolita Fashion shoot
I haven’t had the chance to wear lolita for quite a while, so this was a welcome change. I’d almost forgotten how exhausting it can get to dress up in so many layers of frilly, poofy girly-ness, and doing it more than once can get really tiring. I was reminded how out of shape I’ve gotten when I was defeated by a faulty zipper, just because I didn’t have the strength to wrestle my way in or out of the dress. OTL
JR shot me again, and I wanted him specifically for this shoot because he was the one who’d actually pushed me to get into lolita fashion years ago. I have always thanked/blamed him for it. I’m picking out the top shots in a bit so that he can work on them. XD
And yes, I am a strawberry unicorn that is a pastry-looking clip on my head.

Tired from shooting for @dolluxe / @gothiclolitawigs. I’ve had a headache all day, but I’m glad we pushed through. <3 can’t wait to get the shots, I haven’t worn lolita in a while. >_<

Maintenance Shenanigans

A car mechanic-themed pin-up shoot, yay! I’m not the best person to have around for car maintenance, but I definitely had fun (literally!) poking around under the hood. The ‘69 Camaro’s gorgeous, I wanted to take it home! I couldn’t find the keys, though. *whistles casually*

Sometimes, I don’t know anymore how the shoots start out. Sometimes it starts with the clothes, and the props/location search follows. Other times, the sexy car’s just sitting there and you do what you can to build your shoot around it. I think the latter was what happened here. The car never even left the garage. XD

'Twas definitely a liberating experience to touch all the dirty/dusty parts of the garage and not caring if I end up smudging dirt on myself while shooting. Maybe it'll get dirtier next time around?

Plenty of thanks to Mr. Norman Castillo for allowing us to shoot with his car! I’m definitely looking forward to shooting with it again. :D

The Green Fairy

I can’t believe that I haven’t shared this here! The Green Fairy concept was where this all started for me. The photos you see here are from the re-shoot, where I managed to complete the items on my “ideal items” list, dress/wings/specific contact lenses/wig/elf ears. I obtained these over the span of about two years, and got to re-shoot with some awesome photographers!

I’ll probably share the photos from the first shoot sometime, though looking at them makes me cringe just a little. My photographer did a wonderful job, but I had the facial expression range of a fish and no idea how to pose back then. >_<;;

And the darker side.
I don’t usually shoot in anything that looks or feels dark, but I found this pretty awesome! Mark did an awesome job with our shoot, I can’t wait to share the rest with you! :D

Hoods, Hot Rods, and Hellcats!
Here’s a little sneak peek at the shoot we did in support of Hoods, Hot Rods, and Hellcats! I’ve been wanting to do a pin-up shoot for a long time, and I’m so glad that I finally got to! What makes it even better is that it’ll help someone else, too. :D
